$75 Simply Cutesy Cherry Pound Cake

This cherry pound cake is one 10″ x 2″ inch layer cake.  It contains over 6 ounces of maraschino cherries that are chopped then hand stirred in the cake batter. This cake also contains butter, sugar, flour, eggs, whole milk and shortening.  The shortening traps additional air bubbles which helps the cake maintain its shape and rise a little higher.

The pound cake is then surrounded by buttercream frosting, then vanilla baking chips.

Lastly, the pound cake is topped with a fondant bow.  Each loop of the bow is individually cut, brushed with lemon extract and edible luster dust for highlight.  The loops are dried, then using fondant glue, each loop is assembled into the finished bow. 

This cake can serve up to 28 people and can be ideal for celebrations such as baby showers.
